Ed Friendly’s Life and Legacy
A lot of people have said, and I'm sure will continue to say to me, look, you were my escape from a bad childhood. The Ingalls family, which was our family on the show, was the family I wish I had. Michael Landon was the father I wish I had, and that I find incredibly moving. We taught a lot of lessons and provided a lot of escapist entertainment at times with our goofier episodes. It's so amazing to me that it's lasted this many years in as strongly as it has.

The newer Lionsgate remastered sets all contain English, French, and Spanish audio as well as English subtitles. They do not include the special features present on the earlier non-remastered releases, but rather seasons 1 through 6 each contain a roughly 15 minute segment of a special called "The Little House Phenomenon".

By the Shores of Silver Lake was published in 1939 and is fifth in the series. The pilot film inspired a miniseries in 2005 which was also heavily inspired by the novels of the same name. The three movie specials listed below were produced to tie up loose ends to storylines on both the two main series and those opened up in Hello and Goodbye.

One day he notices a bee tree and returns from hunting early to get the wash tub and milk pail to collect the honey. When Pa returns in the winter evenings, Laura and Mary beg him to play his fiddle, as he is too tired from farm work to play during the summertime. Because of it's generally friendly people and "small town charm", Walnut Grove had many passerbys; some of which took advantage of it's friendly folk such as the Galender brothers. The town did become a ghost town except for Doctor Baker and Lars Hanson when the Ingalls, Olesons and Garveys left to live in Winoka for a time.Read On... I'm Laura Trujillo, managing editor for Life and Entertainment at USA Today. If you're a woman who is part of the Gen X or Boomer generation, then you, probably like me, spent your Monday nights watching one of America's most enduring and endearing TV series, Little House on the Prairie. The show followed the wholesome Ingalls family and their life in Walnut Grove, Minnesota in the 1800s.
In another, Quagmire is seen running down a hill copying the end credits to Little House. Additional members of the Ingalls family and other characters were added later in the series many were not in the original books, such as Albert. Lane’s fifty-year career in journalism has remained largely unexplored. Amy Mattson Lauters introduces readers to Lane’s life through examples of her journalism and argues that her work and career help establish her not only as an author and political rhetorician but also as a literary journalist. Charles and Caroline visit Walnut Grove and are pleased to be able to stay in the 'Little House' when John and Sarah Carter go out of town. Then the townspeople learn that a land development tycoon, Nathan Lassiter (James Karen), has acquired title to all the land in Hero Township, which they had believed to be homesteading land.
Via Vision then acquired the rights to the series and began releasing Uncut & Digitally Remastered version on May 6, 2015 and the final season on April 20, 2016. Also released are Complete Season boxset, the first two being non remastered and the latest version being the remastered Deluxe Edition. Some of the episodes written by Michael Landon were recycled storylines from ones that he had written for Bonanza. At home, Laura is met by Mr. Boast and Mr. Brewster, who interview Laura for a teaching position at a settlement led by Brewster, twelve miles (19 km) from town. The large mobilization of pioneers to the Dakotas in early March prompts Pa to leave immediately on the few days' trip to the claims office.

Soon afterward, Pa receives another warning from an unexpected source as a dignified old Native American man comes to the general store in town to warn the white settlers that there will be seven months of blizzards. The book tells about the months the Ingalls family spent on the prairie of Kansas, around the town of Independence, Kansas. Laura, along with Pa and Ma, Mary, and baby Carrie, moves to Kansas. Along the way, Pa trades his two horses for two Western mustangs, which Laura and Mary name Pet and Patty.

Mary is severely injured when a horse kicks her in the stomach while she is putting him away in the barn. When her condition deteriorates, it becomes clear she needs an expensive surgery to save her life.
